We’re Hiring

Over the past couple of years, Grace Church has changed significantly and grown significantly, and we are deeply thankful to God for all that He is doing among us. We’ve welcomed many new people, seen ministries grow, and new ministries start; God’s been Building the Church and Reaching the World – and we’ve been able to join in. With that growth, we’ve also become increasingly aware that some of the ways we organise ourselves need strengthening so that we can continue to grow in a healthy sustainable, and God-honouring way.

As Elders and Trustees, we’ve spent time praying, talking, and thinking carefully about how best to serve the church at this stage. In particular, we’ve recognised that as the church grows, more of our ideas, decisions, and initiatives rely on a small number of people to carry them forward. While that has worked up to a point, it isn’t a healthy or sustainable pattern for the long term.

A New Role: Ministry Development Lead

With that in mind, we’re pleased to share that we are creating a new staff role called Ministry Development Lead.

The Ministry Development Lead will work alongside the Elders and staff team to help turn vision into reality across the life of the church. This role will focus on supporting and developing our ministry leaders, helping oversee key projects and initiatives, and building healthy teams, systems, and processes so that Grace Church can continue to grow well.

This is not an administrative role, and it is not an eldership role. Rather, it is a leadership and development role that works closely with our other staff, helping ensure that good ideas don’t stall and that our ministries are supported in practical, sustainable ways.

We believe this role will help strengthen our ministries, reduce pressure on a small number of people, and enable us to steward the growth God is giving us more wisely. And it follows the model of Acts 6 where the growth of the early church necessities the appointment of leaders who were distinct from the apostles but were leaders non-the-less.

Changes and Growth in Youth Ministry

Alongside this, we also want to update you on our youth ministry.

As many of you already know, Rosie has shared that she will be stepping down from her role as Youth Leader. Rosie has served Grace Church so well over the past few years, and we are incredibly grateful for the time, energy, prayer, and care she has poured into our young people. Under her leadership, the youth ministry has grown significantly. We want to say a heartfelt thank you to Rosie for all she has done.

Because the youth ministry has grown so much, we believe this is the right time to move from a part-time role to a full-time Youth Leader. We are therefore planning to advertise for a full-time Youth Leader who can build on the great work that has already been done and continue to serve and disciple our young people well, as well as increasing the capacity we have in our staff team.

Looking Ahead: Children’s Ministry and Beyond

We are also aware that the number of children at Grace Church continues to grow, and we are excited about what God is doing among families. As we look ahead to the rest of the year, we are hopeful that we may be able to make further staff appointments, particularly to support our children’s ministry. While nothing beyond the current roles has been finalised yet, we wanted to share this with you so that you’re aware of the direction we’re prayerfully exploring as a church.

A Call to Prayer and Generosity

All of this - strengthening our staff team, supporting growing ministries, and planning for the future - depends on God’s provision and on the generosity of His people.

We’re very thankful for the way many of you already give faithfully and generously to Grace Church. As we take these steps, we want to invite you to continue praying with us and, where you’re able, to continue giving generously so that we can keep reaching the world and building the church because of Jesus.

What Happens Next

The job adverts for the Ministry Development Lead role and the Youth Leader role are now live and on our website. So please do pray, give generously and if you’re interested in either of these roles then we’d love for you to think seriously about applying.

Thank you for walking this journey with us, for your prayers, and for your ongoing commitment to the life of Grace Church. We’re excited about what God is doing among us and look forward to seeing how He continues to lead us together.
