CHILDREN AND YOUTH INTERN
Grace Church, Salisbury
Part-Time: 3.5 days (26.25 hours) per week
Fixed Term: 1st September 2025 – 31st August 2026
Location: Salisbury (office-based, home working, and ministry venues)

Grace Church Salisbury is seeking a Children and Youth Intern to join our team and take part in the Commission Intern Training Programme. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on ministry experience while being trained, mentored, and equipped for future leadership and service in the local church.

Main Responsibilities

  • Complete the Commission Intern Training Scheme

  • Support and help lead Grace Church’s youth ministry

  • Support and help lead Grace Church’s children’s ministry

  • Assist in developing the church’s visual and social media presence

  • Contribute to wider church life and staff operations

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • A committed Christian with a passion for Jesus and for working with children and young people

  • Effective knowledge of the Bible

  • Experience working with young people and/or children

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to build relationships with youth, children, parents, carers, and volunteers

  • Organised, self-motivated, and able to work flexibly

  • Willing to work within safeguarding guidelines and procedures

  • Member of Grace Church, Salisbury

  • Able to obtain an enhanced DBS certificate

Desirable:

  • Qualification in education or children’s/youth work

  • Previous experience of ministry at Grace Church

Working Hours

  • 3.5 days (26.25 hours) per week

  • Typically Sunday (0.5 day), Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (flexible scheduling available)

  • Regular Sunday attendance is expected (maximum 8 Sundays off per year)

Lead Elder and Youth Leader

Eligibility and Occupational Requirement
This post is subject to an occupational requirement that the post holder is a committed Christian, in accordance with the Equality Act 2010 (Schedule 9, Paragraph 3).

Contract Details

  • Fixed Term Contract: 1st September 2025 – 31st August 2026

  • No probationary period
